Setup

Up and running in 3 steps

1

Unzip and launch

Extract the zip anywhere (e.g. C:\Tools\PromptFordge), then double-click Launch_PromptFordge.bat. On first run it creates a virtual environment and installs all Python dependencies automatically.

2

Install FFmpeg (for voice)

Voice transcription requires FFmpeg. Install it once with: winget install Gyan.FFmpeg. Image drag-and-drop works without it.

3

Add a Desktop shortcut (optional)

Run Create-Shortcut.bat once to add a PromptFordge icon to your Desktop. It uses the included double-hammer ICO and points to the launcher automatically.

AI-assisted install

Let your LLM install it for you

Paste the prompt below into Claude Code (or any AI coding assistant) after extracting the zip. The INSTALL.md in the package gives the LLM everything it needs to finish setup.

Paste into Claude Code Copy

I just extracted PromptFordge to [FOLDER PATH]. Please read the INSTALL.md file in that folder and follow it to complete the installation for my system. Then optionally create a Desktop shortcut.
